UTILIZATION OF THE VEHICLE
The vehicle, being the object of rental must be personally driven by the renter. It is forbidden to overload the vehicle with More passengers than allowed for said vehicle.
It is strictly forbidden to take part in any race or competition or to drive in state of drunkenness or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
It’s not allowed to smoke in Unlimited Car Rental Vehicles. A cleaning fee of US$250,- will be applied to your rental agreement if traces of smoke are detected. It’s not allowed to carry people in the back of the pick-up trunk. Insurance will not cover for any accidents occurs when violating.
CONDITION OF THE CAR
The renter agrees that the vehicle in proper working order and that he must drive in a proper manner and return it in the same condition, except in the case of mechanical failures and/or normal wear which must be reported immediately to the owner. The renter is responsible for the maintenance of the oil level for the proper operation of the car and the waterlevel for its cooling. Each car is provided with a spare tire and the necessary tools. In case of a flat or damaged tire, the renter is responsible for repairing and/or replacing of this tire.
Exessive or damage caused by saltwater and/or sand, wt dive suits & gear, wet clothing in the vehicle will result in an additional charge of US$ 350,- on your rental agreement as a penalty.
DEPOSITS AND PROLONGATION
Tariffs are fixed and must be paid in advance. A deposit of US$ 550,- is compulsory and will be returned at the end of the rental, after compliance of all obligations of the renter. The deposit is valid for the length of the rental and cannot serve as unilateral prolongation of said rental.
RESPONSIBILITY
All our rental cars are for renters above 23 years old. The renter remains personally responsible for all contraventions, misdemeanor offense he could render himself responsible for during the driving of the vehicle. Under no conditions could the owner be Charged or investigated for such motives.
The renter must not hold the owner responsible for any items of clothing and/or articles carried or left in the vehicle. The responsibility of the renter is covered by the insurance paragraph of these general rental conditions. The renter car should be returned with same amount of the correct fuel. If the amount is less, we will charge the difference on the contract plus a service fee of $ 20 will be charged. Please take note that these amounts are higher than the normal rates at the gas station. The renter is liable for the damage to the vehicle caused by the use of incorrect fuel.
The additional coverage doesn’t cover the following situations: “one way” accidents, driving under influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, hitting rocks or stones, off road driving, damages to third parties exceeding US $.40.000,-
In case of a car accident/theft/joyriding/vandalism, renter has to notify the Police Department immediately (phone # 717-8000), Caribean Road Service (Phone 717 9292) and Unlimited Car Rental (Phone 785-1266). Don’t move the vehicle from the accident site untill the police has arived.
Police & B.S.F. reports are required. If the police and the B.S.F. are not notified, the insurance protection is voided and renter will be responsible for the full value of the damage.
Only Pickup truks are allowed to be driven into the National Park Washington/Slagbaai.

INSURANCE
Only the driver will be covered by insurance as described in the following paragraphs
a) The insurance covers accidental damages caused to the other party.
b) Renter is responsible for any and all damages to Unlimited Car Rental Vehicle (CDW Unlimited deductible of $550,-).
c) Burglary, vandalism and theft damages are not covered by CDW Basic (CDW Unlimited deductible of $550,-).
All violations of the present contract will engage the responsibility of the renter and of the deposit made, without prejudice to all other rights means and actions which the owner may bring against him.
All material damages that occur to the vehicle, any loss of objects during the rental period, even in the presence of the renter, remains at the expense of the latter, and at no time during the rental period of the owner can be held responsible. When renter leaves the car, it should be unlocked at all times and never leave valuable items inside the car.
The customer gives Unlimited Car Rental the power of attorney to use any credit card or company card if necessary to pay for all damages.
At all times, I will be directly responsible to “Unlimited Car Rental” for all damages, loss etc. of the rented vehicle and hereby l authorize “Unlimited Car Rental” to charge my Credit Card with the respective amount to pay, whether on the same moment after leaving the island.
